Jakarta. Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) sent a humanitarian aid to Bengkulu. Indonesia to alleviate the critical situation of victims from earthquakes that affected that Sumatra island's zone.
That area was hit Saturday by a strong tectonic aftershock of 5.7 degrees on the Richter scale while it was officially reported that the September 12-13 seisms killed 17 people and injured 88.
About 1,580 houses were destroyed. 3,835 seriously damaged and 4,831 are slightly affected.
The UNHCR sent 800 packages of humanitarian aid. 500 of them for the North Bengkulu regency and the be for evacuees in the Muku Muko municipality.
Thirteen of those deaths took place in Bengkulu the strongest hit govern by telluric movements of 8.2 and 7.5 degrees in the last few days.
